Volunteer for the Fire Department!

Join the Crystal Park Fire Department in one (or more) of four capacities:

FIREFIGHTER ASSOCIATE EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES

Firefighter

Any person eighteen (18) years or older, of good character and meeting Department eligibility requirements may apply for membership in the Department. 

Active members are required to attend the training and business activities of the Department.  A member must attend a minimum of nine (9) monthly training drills and nine (9) monthly meetings per calendar year. 

During the probationary period (12 months), a volunteer shall attend all required training drills and business meetings and must complete either the Wildland S130/190 class or the Probie Course (Basic Firefighter).

Associate

Associate Volunteers are those members that do not train as firefighters but support the operations of the Department in various ways based on their training.

Engineers tend to apparatus, man pumps, drive and operate apparatus and otherwise provide logistical support in order to support the effectiveness, preparedness, and readiness of the CPFD firefighting capability.

Persons seeking to be Associate Volunteers shall be at least eighteen (18) years of age and sponsored by two (2) active members of the Department not on probation.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS)

Medical First Responders include Emergency Medical Responders (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Paramedics.  They are Active Members of the Crystal Park Fire Department and may or may not be trained firefighters. They must complete appropriate training and become certified as EMR, EMT or Paramedic. They attend all business meetings and department training sessions. They also attend Manitou Springs Fire Department Medical In-Service trainings. They are responsible for responding to all medical  and rescue emergencies in Crystal Park.
